Court Changes Ruling On Missouri’s Lethal Injection Drug

(St. Louis, MO)  —  The 8th U-S Circuit Court of Appeals has reversed its decision that said Missouri has to give up the name of its supplier of lethal injection drugs. The court made that ruling last month after two Mississippi death-row inmates filed a lawsuit seeking the information. But Thursday the court changed its decision, saying the state can protect the name of its pentobarbital provider. The state claims disclosing the name of its supplier would make it tougher to get the drug in the future because they had been assured of confidentiality. The ruling could still be appealed.
