Governor Jay Nixon is pardoning 14 more people, who have completed their sentences for various crimes in Missouri. Nixon Friday announced the pardons which include clemency for a man sentenced to probation in 1987 for stealing in Boone County and who later achieved the rank of Commander in the U-S Navy, served in Iraq and was awarded the Bronze Star. Pardons also went to men and women convicted of offenses including burglary, possession of a controlled substance and nonsupport. The pardons announced Friday are among several Nixon’s granted in his final months in office. Of about 60 pardons issued during his more than seven years in office, 47 were granted this year.
