Douglas County Car Crash Injures Norwood Man

A car crash in Douglas County sent a Norwood man to the hospital with injuries. At just before 7AM Wednesday, 21-year-old Merle Cureton of Norwood was driving south on Highway-5 when he crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle driven north by 60-year-old Bud Baker of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Cureton’s vehicle then caught fire and came to rest against the guard rail. The Highway Patrol reports that both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Cureton was treated for minor injuries at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
