Nixon Most Veto Overturned Governor In Missouri History

Governor Jay Nixon has had more of his vetoes overridden than all other Missouri governors combined. The number is expected to get bigger tomorrow when lawmakers hold their annual veto session. With Republicans holding more than two-thirds of the seats in both the Senate and House, 83 Nixon vetoes have been overridden since he took office seven years ago. When the GOP votes as a block, it doesn’t need help from Democrats to override a Nixon veto.
