Mizzou Medical School Facing Accreditation Issues

The committee which accredits medical degree programs says the University of Missouri has two years to address some concerns.  If the questions are resolved, the school will maintain its all-important accreditation.  The June report from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education notes the school’s medical students report experiencing gender discrimination at a rate twice the national average.  It also found the Columbia school non-compliant in student mistreatment, diversity programs, curriculum management and affiliation agreements.  School leaders say they have created a task force to address the issues.
