Heat Advisory In Effect Through Friday

Extreme temperatures are returning to the area. The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory effective through 7-PM Friday. Temperatures during the afternoon this week will reach the mid 90s and the high humidity could push the heat index up to 105 degrees. People are advised to take extra precautions by drinking plenty of fluids, remaining in an air conditioned room if possible and wearing light-colored and loose-fitting clothing. More highs in the 90s are forecast in Missouri until Friday, when highs will near 100 degrees.
