Houston Woman Sentenced Murder For Hire

A federal judge has sentenced a southern Missouri woman to more than seven years in prison for trying to hire a man to kill her sister. Her murder-for-hire plot failed. Fifty-two-year-old Leta Faye Douglas of Houston pleaded guilty last January and was sentenced Tuesday. Douglas’ former husband contacted authorities after she called him last year looking for help. He says her parents were in a home for the elderly and the sister was handling their finances — leading him to think she wanted control of their estate.
