Personhood Bill Passes From Missouri House

Supporters say the “personhood” bill which passed the Missouri House Tuesday will protect the unborn.  Opponents say it’s another path to a ban on abortions.  The measure needs one more supportive vote in the House, then it would move on to the Missouri Senate.  If passed before the end of the session May 13th, voters could eventually decide on the state constitutional provision at the ballot box.  Republican supporters deny a Democratic contention that it is worded in such a way it could make contraception illegal.
