First Lady Michelle Obama Visits Fort Leonard Wood

First Lady Michelle Obama, Second Lady Dr Jill Biden, astronaut Mark Kelly, and Levar Burton from Tv’s “Reading Rainbow” paid a special visit to Fort Leonard Wood’s Thayer Elementary School Tuesday. Burton and Mrs Obama read a book written by Burton called “The Rhino Who Swallowed The Storm”

Mrs Obama says the visit was to simply thank their heroes in person.

The four then had the opportunity to watch Fort Leonard Wood soldiers in action during training. The visit is part of the nationwide “Joining Forces” initiative.
