Seymour Man Dies in Texas County Crash

A Seymour man died this week in a crash in Texas County. 55-year-old Bernerd Sawyers was driving east of Cabool, eastbound on Highway U when he failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected, went off the right side of the roadway, overturned and was ejected from the vehicle. The Highway Patrol reports that Saywers was not wearing his seatbelt, he was airlifted to Mercy Hospital Springfield where he was pronounced dead by hospital doctors. This is the 11th fatality in Troop G compared to only 1 at this time last year.
