Mountain Grove Police Respond to Stabbing

The Mountain Grove Police department responded to the Mountain Grove Motel Saturday for a reported assault with a knife. When officers arrived to the scene, they attempted to apprehend the suspect who was still on the scene. 39-year-old Kevin Eseley of Mountain Grove fought with officers before being taken into custody. He is being charged with 1st degree assault resulting in serious physical injury, possession of a controlled substance, resisting and interfering with arrest for a felony, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. Eseley’s bond is set at $100-thousand cash only. The victim was a 20-year-old Houston man who is reported to be in stable condition at a Springfield hospital. The Highway Patrol and Wright County Sheriff assisted the Mountain Grove Police with the incident.
