Ava Man Dies in Wright County Crash

An Ava man died Friday morning in a crash just south of Norwood on Hwy C. At about 2AM, 40-year-old Erec Hambelton of Ava was driving south on Hwy C when he went off the left side of the roadway, and overturned and was ejected from the vehicle. A Mercy Hospital doctor pronounced that Hambelton died at the scene within an hour of the crash. The Highway Patrol reports that he was not wearing a seatbelt, this is the 5th fatality in Troop G so far this year.
