West Plains Man Seriously Injured in Car Crash

A crash Thursday sent a West Plains man to the hospital with serious injuries. At about 3PM Thursday, 19-year-old Cordell Surface of West Plains was driving north on Route-JJ, southwest of West Plains when he traveled off the right side of the road, struck a tree and overturned, coming to rest back in the middle of the road. Surface was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains with serious injuries, the Highway Patrol reports that he was not wearing a seatbelt.
