Mountain View Woman Injured in Wednesday Morning Crash

A Mountain View woman was seriously injured Tuesday morning in a crash on Route-17, south of Mountain View. At about 10:50AM, 89-year-old Ywanniayana Perkins was driving south on Route-17 when she ran off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. Perkins was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. The Highway Patrol reports that she was wearing her seatbelt.
