Nixon and Legislature Disagree on State Revenue Numbers

When Governor Jay Nixon reveals his budget plan next week he will base it on a two-point-eight percent growth in revenue this year and four-point-one percent next year. He says he and the Missouri Legislature have agreed on those figures as the Consensus Revenue Estimate. A staff worker in the Missouri House says that’s not the case and there has been no comment from the Senate. Usually, the governor and lawmakers make a public announcement when the agreement is firm. That hasn’t happened yet.
