Douglas County Car Chase End With Crash and Arrest

A car chase in Douglas County Friday night resulted in multiple charges and injuries to a Mansfield man. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that 35-year-old James Strunk of Mansfield was driving a 2000 Buick Regal when he fled from officers around 11:30 pm Friday night. While being pursued on County-Road-126, Strunk lost control of his vehicle, leaving the roadway and colliding with a tree. He was taken by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. The Highway Patrol indicates Strunk was charged with 9 different offenses including felony possession of methamphetamine, driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest by fleeing. The crash occurred 8 miles east of Ava.
