Thayer House Fire Claims Children’s Lives

A house fire has killed three children in a neighborhood called Old Town, just south of Thayer. Fire crews say the structure was fully involved when they arrived just before 4:00 a-m Friday. One girl was dead at the scene and two other children died at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. Investigators say 11 people lived in the home on a county road near the Arkansas border. A West Plains newspaper, The Quill, says the home was owned by Michael Bowers and Selianna Seelye. They lived there with their five children. Another couple and their nine-year-old daughter also lived there. No other names were released.
