Wright County’s New Conservation Agent Is No Stranger To The Area

When Justin Emery started his job as Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) agent for Wright County on Oct. 1, he began patrolling familiar territory. Emery’s newly assigned county is in the heart of the part of the state he’s known since childhood.

He grew up in Vanzant in nearby Douglas County and graduated from Cabool High School in Texas County. Emery replaces Keith Wollard, who transferred to fill a conservation agent vacancy in Polk County.

Emery says, “This move will get us closer to family and put me back in an area I know well.”

Emery didn’t have to move far. Prior to coming to Wright County, the Drury University graduate was the Shannon County conservation agent for the previous six years.

Emery will work out of his home and can be reached at (417) 259-0736 or Justin.Emery@mdc.mo.gov. Citizens can also report game law violations and arson-caused forest fires to the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-800-392-1111.
